Miss Universe Philippines and Miss Universe 2012 1st Runner Up Janine Tugonon graces the cover of Metro Magazine in its swimsuit issue for March 2013.

Janine, wearing a Louis Vuitton outfit in the beautiful location at Bellevue Resort in Bohol leads the issue which features 50 swimsuits that work, accessories that would work with your summer outfits and island escapes that you can go through this summer season.

Lourenz Grace Remetillo: Will the Supra beauty fare well for a Binibini crown

When you talk about this year's Binibining Pilipinas, you have the fresh faces (Pauline Quintas, Ria Rabajante, Pia Wurtzbach), those who have been in pageants (Charmaine Elima), pageant-crossovers (Zandra Flores is an example who joined Miss Philippines-Earth) and those who represented the country like Bea Rose Santiago who donned the Philippine sash to Miss Tourism Queen of the Year 2012 and the Binibini candidate whose this post is featured: Lourenz Grace Remetillo.

 

If you have been following the Philippine pageant scene, you will remember that Lourenz is Miss Supranational Phils 2011, that time, the Supranational franchise was still with the CTI Events World Asia Management. She competed during the Miss Supranational 2011 contest in Poland which was won by Monica Lewczuk. 

This year, Lourenz comes back in a bigger pageant arena in Bb. Pilipinas 2013, might be her last chance to try hoping to donne a bigger crown (perhaps not the Miss Supranational Philippines which is now with Madam Stella Araneta with Elaine Kay Moll as the present titleholder). 

Facial features: improved from her Supra stint.
She gets bashed because of her nose but I think she doesn't need to change anything within herself. Her catwalk is very impressive as what I have seen in her videos.

I am hoping for the best that this Supra beauty may come a long way in Bb. Pilipinas 2013. ;)

Ria Rabajante: No. 1 on the List

This year's number 1 on the list of official Binibini candidates is Ria Rabajante, while she is not in the famous group of Aces and Queens, John Dela Vega and Kagandahang Flores, Ria has earned the liking of most pageant fans and being #1 should make her noticed by those who would be watching Binibini finals night in April 14. 

This girl for now has earned a spot for me in the Top 12 (or 15). I do hope she makes it well come the Finals Night. :)

Save your money for this date: April 14, 2013 which is the Finals Night of Bb. Pilipinas 2013. Nothing beats watching live at the Smart Araneta Coliseum (just like Filipinos loving basketball) and with 50 girls named vying for three crowns (Miss Universe Philippines, Bb. Pilipinas International and Bb. Pilipinas Tourism), it gets more exciting to see them right before your very eyes.

Is this a sign for something great for the Philippines as Julia Morley (chair of the Miss World Organization) and Wenxia celebrated Chinese New Year in the Philippines?

Bb. Pilipinas 2013: Will Supranational be in its list of crowns?

First bet from BPCI Elaine Kay Moll scores highly last Miss Supranational 2012 pageant where she was 3rd Runner Up
Up to this very moment, there is no final word regarding promoting Bb. Pilipinas Supranational as one of the crowns awarded on the finals night. All I know is I've seen Elaine (Bb. Pilipinas 1st Runner Up/Miss Supranational Philippines) wearing the sash as "Bb. Pilipinas - Supranational" during Janine Tugonon's guesting at Deal or No Deal. On a pageant fan standpoint, I feel that they should put Supra on as the third crown and retain BBP-Tourism for Tourism advocacies (and if Miss Tourism Queen International 2013 is not cancelled). 

What is your case on this?

Amanda Navasero: Glammed up in Screenings

If there is something that made a mark on me during the Bb. Pilipinas 2013 Screenings, it must be the glammed up Amanda Navasero (picture courtesy of OPMB Worldwide). The KF (Kagandahang Flores) group where she belongs made sure that she would not go to the Binibini screenings like how she was when she passed her application.

I hope she becomes one of Binibini's official candidates for this year.

Throwback: Miss World Philippines 2012

The 2nd Edition of Miss World Philippines saw the crowning of Queenie Rehman, who went on to represent the Philippines to Miss World 2012 (won by Wenxia Yu) where she was a part of the Top 15.

Carlene went on to compete at Miss Earth 2001 pageant held in the Philippines last October 28, 2001 won by Denmark. After her reign as Miss Philippines Earth, she went on to compete in Bb. Pilipinas 2005 where she was crowned Bb. Pilipinas World and represented the country to the Miss World 2005 pageant where she was a semifinalist.

This photo caught me to expressing how much I admire the beauty of Ariella Arida and Pia 'Wurtzbach' Alonzo who would be representing Aces and Queens if ever they both make it to the official candidates (should I remove the if-ever tag?). I can sort of feel the vibe of the Miss Universe Philippines and Bb. Pilipinas International winners right here, but don't get me wrong, there's too much for this year's Bb. Pilipinas that I am torn between Pia and Charmaine Elima (that's for another post).

Meryll Angeline King: From the Earth to MTWP and now Binibining Pilipinas

After Miss Philippines Earth and Miss Tourism World Philippines, it's time to go Bb. Pilipinas for Meryl Angeline King. 

One of the girls I have followed through my pageant blogging last year is Meryll Angeline King, who went on to win the first edition of Miss Tourism World Philippines and competed in Miss Tourism competition. Now, Meryll, who also competed in Miss Philippines-Earth plans to take it to Bb. Pilipinas. Under the wing of John Dela Vega, will this stunner proved to be worthy to be a part of the official Binibini candidates for their 50th Anniversary?

One thing I know - JDV definitely have prepared well for this year.

Ariella Arida: All Set for Binibining Pilipinas 2013

One of the girls that has been considered as a front-runner for Bb. Pilipinas 2013 even if there has not been any screening yet is ARIELLA ARIDA. 

Ara, is from the camp of Jonas Gaffud and has been seen filing the application along with Pia (Romero) Wurtzbach and Theresa Fenger. She is getting all the hype and hopefully, she gets the spot to compete in the 2013 edition for a chance in the crowns.

Throwback: Miss World Philippines 2011

Today's throwback goes to the first edition winners of Miss World Philippines in 2011 when the franchise was handed by Julia Morley to Cory Quirino after being a part of Bb. Pilipinas from 1992 to 2010.

The first edition winners from left to right: Ma. Paula Bianca Paz (3rd Princess), Martha Chloe McCulley (2nd Princess), Gwendoline Ruais (Miss World Philippines 2011), Nicolette Henson (1st Princess) and Jaysel Arrozal (4th Princess).

Miss World 2010 Alexandra Mills was at the pageant competition crowning Ruais, a Fil-French beauty queen who went to Miss World 2011 to be Miss World 1st Princess, behind Miss World 2011 Ivian Sarcos.
