Just like last year in this blog post, we give a rundown of the 2012 Winners and their respective placements in the their respective pageants. This year we also highlight achievements on the "male" pageants, proving that Filipinos, without any gender reference whatsoever are proven to excel with their beauty and brains in the International pageant scene.

Bb. Pilipinas International 2012
Competition Date: October 21 in Japan
Placement: Miss International 2012 Top 15

When she joined Bb. Pilipinas 2007, she was already a semifinalist at her age 18 and with vast improvements during a 5 year span, including trainings from the camp of Rodgil Flores (who mentored the likes of Miss International 2005 Precious Lara Quigaman, Miss International 2008 SF Patricia Fernandez and Miss International 2011 SF Dianne Necio among others), she was one of the favorites to win the Bb. Pilipinas 2012 pageant.

During the Miss International 2012 pageant in Okinawa, Japan, she managed to impress the crowd with her beauty and brains. She was a part of the Miss International Top 15, maintaining the record of the Philippines by placing on the Top 15 since 2008. The pageant was won by Ikumi Yoshimatsu, who succeeded Ecuador's Maria Fernanda Cornejo as Miss International 2012.

KATRINA JAYNE DIMARANAN
Bb. Pilipinas Tourism
Competition Date: Rescheduled for the First Quarter of 2013
(Miss Tourism Queen International 2012)

I'm really one of those pageant fans disappointed that Katrina's MTQI 2012 pageant was rescheduled to next year, but then again, it is more time to prepare right? The youngest among the Binibining Pilipinas winners, Kat dazzled judges and audience during the Binibining Pilipinas pageant thus the Binibining Pilipinas Tourism crown.

She is the country's representative to Miss Tourism Queen International, the second being sent by BPCI after Isabella Manjon for the right to succeed Kantapat Peeradachainarin as MTQI 2012

ELAINE KAY MOLL
Bb. Pilipinas 1st Runner Up
Appointed as: Miss Supranational Philippines
Competition Date: September 15 in Poland
Placement: Miss Supranational 3rd Runner Up

While Binibining Pilipinas runners-up goes on trainings and other social functions, it does not guarantee an opportunity to banner the Philippines in an international competition abroad which is why when Madam Stella Araneta of BPCI appointed Bb. Pilipinas 1st Runner Up Elaine Kay Moll as the Philippine representative to Miss Supranational 2012 in Poland, the 21 year old basketball player turned beauty queen was nervous of joining and competing with a Philippine sash, nevertheless, she managed to pull it off and flew to Poland.

She never had a mileage of campaigning through the Miss Internet award as the Miss Supranational contest ask voters to pay for their votes. I guess it was her height, beauty and the things she did in Poland which made her stand out and be awarded as 3rd Runner Up.

I do not know if Elaine and Ali (Bb. Pilipinas 2nd Runner Up) would be competing for next year but in their previous interviews, they would like to give it a chance but not next year (oh well, it's too soon to tell, HONESTLY!)

The second edition of Miss World Philippines under Ms. Cory Quirino shown a lot of changes: network partners and prizes just to name a few to improve MWP 2012 after the success of Miss World Philippines 2011 Gwendoline Ruais who eventually was crowned Miss World 2011 1st Princess.

QUEENIE REHMAN
Miss World Philippines 2012
Competition Date: August 18
Placement: Miss World Top 15 Semifinalist

Winning MWP 2012 seemed to be a hands-down for Queenie Rehman but it was not easy going to the Miss World 2012 competition where her predecessor, Miss World Philippines 2011 Gwendoline Ruais was 1st Princess. She managed to put up a good fight with the following achievements:

She was Miss World Top 15 Semifinalist, Top 10 in the World Fashion Designer Dress Award, Top 47 in Top Model, Top 5 in Talent and Top 40 in Beach Fashion. It was a decent finish following Gwendoline's success.

1. Queenie Rehman was a Binibining Pilipinas 2011 Semifinalist, winning the Best in Swimsuit Award
2. Mary Ann Ross Misa was a Binibining Pilipinas 2010 Top 10 SF
3. Vanessa Amman was Miss Cebu 2011 2nd runner-up and won Miss Friendship,Miss Marco Polo, Best in Runway
4. April Love Jordan was Mutya ng Pilipinas 2006 2nd runner up, Miss Philippines Earth 2006 semifinalist and Bb. Pilipinas 2009 Top 10 semifinalist.
5. Brenna Cassandra Gamboa was Miss Philippines Earth 2011 finalist.

The 12th Edition of Miss Philippines Earth was held at Centerstage in Mall of Asia, Pasay City it was aligned with the 2012 declaration of the United Nations General Assembly as the "International Year of Sustainable Energy for All".

Miss Philippines Earth 2012
Competition: Miss Earth 2012
Date: November 24, 2012
Placement: Miss Earth-Air 2012 (1st Runner Up)

Proving to make most of the second chance, Stephany Stefanowitz was a head-turner in Miss Philippines-Earth 2012 and is actually my bet to win the whole MPE 2012. However, with the pageant finals of Miss Earth 2012 held in the Philippines, some Filipinos were saying: "sash factor" worked again when she was crowned as Miss Earth Air, behind Czech Republic's Tereza Fajksova. She managed to make a good run in Miss Earth's Fast-Track Events and I think her efforts were able to push her through the finals.

Pageant Winners' Notes:

1. Stephany Stefanowitz represented Butuan City when she first joined Miss Philippines Earth in 2010 where she was a Runner-up.
2. Glennifer Perido and Samantha Purvor were candidates of Binibining Pilipinas 2011, Purvor was Miss Friendship while Perido was unplaced. The pageant was won by Shamcey Supsup (Miss Universe Philippines), Isabella Manjon (Bb. Pilipinas Tourism) and Dianne Necio (Bb. Pilipinas International)
3. Samantha Purvor also joined the Maiden Edition of Miss World Philippines 2011 where she was part of the Top 12. Gwendoline Ruais won the competition.

As the pageant names may confuse you, the last pageant for 2012 would be Miss Tourism International (without the "Queen") and this year, the Philippines would be bannered by Rizzini Alexis Gomez, winner of the Mutya ng Pilipinas Tourism International crown.

We wish Rizzini the best of luck in this pageant. Reigning queen is Gabriella Robinson. Our last placement was in 2010 with Barbara Salvador (3rd Runner Up)

While this is not one of the big name pageants, I urge all those who were once rooting for Marie-Ann and MJ to support them for the Miss ASEAN 2012 pageant. As seen in the photos of Aces and Queens, the girls are having the best time of their lives in Thailand.

Misses Philippines for Miss ASEAN 2012: Mary Jean Lastimosa and Marie-Ann Umali

Aces and Queens handpicked Mary Jean Lastimosa (Bb. Pilipinas 2011 2nd Runner Up) and Marie Ann Umali (Bb. Pilipinas World 2009) to represent the Philippines in the Miss ASEAN 2012 in Chiang Rai, Thailand for the competition to be held on December 23, 2012. We see that the Philippines has a clear advantage over this seasoned beauty queens against delegates from Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia and Myanmar but it is not enough to claim that the crown is already ours.

The last among the Binibining Pilipinas 2012 winners to compete is Bb. Pilipinas Tourism Katrina Dimaranan. Katrina would be bannering the country to the 2012 edition of Miss Tourism Queen International in China. While we haven't been victorious in China, I am keeping my hopes up that Katrina will prove that Filipina beauty (& brain) is as its finest. If you have been following her on Twitter (@treenbean) she's been asking help on a song she can sing for the Talent Competition. She has done so during the BBP 2012 contest that wowed me when I watched her video.

The Miss Tourism Queen International 2012 competition is held in China from December 12-29. The current titleholder is Kantapat Peeradachainarin of Thailand. The Philippines has won MTQI in 2006 with Justine Gabionza as its bet. Katrina is the 2nd BPCI bet who would be joining the contest after Isabella Manjon last year. Isabella won the Special Award Miss Charity in Miss Tourism Queen International 2011.

Annalie Forbes (Bb. Pilipinas 2nd Runner Up) and Elaine Kay Moll (Bb. Pilipinas 1st Runner Up)

With runners-up from the past year joining again in the next Binibining Pilipinas edition, all eyes would point to Elaine Kay Moll (Bb. Pilipinas 2012 1st Runner Up) and Ali Forbes (Bb. Pilipinas 2012 2nd Runner Up) if they would be submitting their applications just like what Dianne Necio (Bb. Pilipinas 2010 1st Runner Up turned Bb. Pilipinas International 2011), Janine Tugonon (Bb. Pilipinas 2011 1st Runner Up turned Miss Universe Philippines 2012) and Mary Jean Lastimosa (Bb. Pilipinas 2011 2nd Runner Up).

Though in their interviews, the two said that they do not close the door on the possibility of joining again but not in the definite future, we do not know what lies in store with them.

I do not know also whether Elaine would pass on the Miss Supranational Philippines title next year, that we would have to find out ourselves and if it is an official title, Elaine would really not compete anymore.

Filipinos had proven time in and time out how they can make wonders in helping PH bets with different pageants. Asta Jakumaite of Lithuania is Miss Tourism Queen of the Year 2012

Asta Jakumaite, a student/model from Lithuania bested 49 other contestants in the recently held Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International 2012 last December 3, 2012 in Nanjing, China.

Jakumaite also competed in the recent Miss International 2012 representing Lithuania, however she was unplaced.

Fil-Canadian bet of the Philippines, Bea Rose Monterde Santiago, who was crowned before as the Mutya ng Pilipinas Overseas Communities 2011 placed on the Top 10 of the competition.
