Laura Lehman (2014 1st Runner Up) and Hannah Sison (2014 2nd Runner Up) round out the winners of last night's Bb. Pilipinas 2014, while there is no guarantee of an international representation, Laura and Hannah will still enjoy a year's worth of representation of BPCI and its affiliates - Araneta Center, Gateway Mall et al.

As to joining, Laura and Hannah can still both take part this year with the extended age limit for Hannah's case. For now, let's see the two girls more with the 5 queens shall we? , , ,

Parungao, 22 is currently a model by profession. Hillarie succeeds Grendel Alvarado (2012) and Czarina Rosales (2013) and will be representing the country to the 2nd edition of the revamped Miss Asia Pacific World Super Talent in Korea.

The 51st Edition of Bb. Pilipinas will happen on Sunday, March 30 where Ariella Arida (2013 Miss Universe 3rd Runner Up), Bea Rose Santiago (Miss International 2013), Mutya Johanna Datul (Miss Supranational 2013) and Joanna Cindy Miranda (Miss Tourism Queen International 2013 Semifinalist). The Bb. Pilipinas-Intercontinental will also be given at the end of the event.

Just in: 2013 Miss Universe Gabriela Isler just landed a few hours ago with Miss Universe President Paula Shugart. The reigning queen will be on hand until March 30 for the crowning of the new Miss Universe Philippines. She will be on hand to some activities prior to the Coronation Night which we will try to feature here.

Top Model of the World 2014: Janicel Lubina hopes to bring home the crown

Janicel Lubina, reigning Miss Bikini Philippines 2013 leaves today, March 27 for El Gouna, Red Sea to represent the Philippines to the Top Model of the World Contest this coming April 11.

Slimmers World Philippines, organizers of Miss Bikini Philippines partnered with Top Model of the World Philippines Ms. Caroline de Venecia which gave Janicel the right to represent PH to the international contest. Both camps have high hopes for Janicel to bring home the top award. She will aim to equal the feat of Michelle de Leon who won the Top Model of the World title for the Philippines in 2007. Past Filipina delegates to the international modeling tilt were: Lorena Pangan (3rd runner-up, 1995), Cherry Ann Chavez (semi-finalist, 1997), Elizabeth Sison (1998), Justine Gabionza (4th runner-up, 2002), Michelle de Leon (winner, 2007), Rosita Defino (Miss Congeniality, 2008), Christi Lynn McGarry (semi-finalist, 2010), Madison Elliot (2011), Christina Davis (2012) and Shermaine de Ramos (2013).

Miss Grand Philippines will most likely come from another pageant and that the JDV delegates of Bb. Pilipinas 2014 will have to go to the same process once again to succeed Miss Grand Philippines 2013 Ali Forbes.

Do you consider this a good move for John Dela Vega? or should she just consider her ladies like Raquel Kabigting or Vessica Sambo for Miss Grand International?

Bb. Pilipinas 2014: How far will Kimverlyn Suiza go?

When she joined Bb. Pilipinas 2014, she has also given up her right & prizes to Miss Philippines Earth 2013 as its Miss Philippines Air titleholder, but jumping ship just before the next Eco-Warrior court has been crowned is something she needed to do instead of waiting for the 2015 edition as she is already 25 years old. 

Now a few days before the contest, all eyes will be on this crossover beauty in how far she will go towards the finals night. What crown will you like to give her?

Bb. Pilipinas 2014 Candidate # 13 Kris Tiffany Janson was announced as this year's Best in National Costume last night at the BBP '14 Primer shown in Sunday's Best. The ensemble was designed by Cary Santiago.

Will Kris do a Nicole Schmitz who won the award in 2012 and eventually win Bb. Pilipinas-International? That we will have to find out on March 30.

Bb. Pilipinas 2014: Reigning Queens at the Parade of Beauties

Cindy, Ara, Bea and Mutya joined the 40 candidates of Bb. Pilipinas 2014 last Saturday in the Parade of Beauties. This is one of the last activities of the reigning queens before they turn over their crowns next Sunday, March 30.

It has been a fabulous ride for the four and I believe we won't stop seeing them yet after this, Bea and Mutya are reigning queens of Miss International and Miss Supranational respectively, while Ara and Cindy most probably will be helping out their successors and with their 18-month BPCI contract, I think we will be seeing them in a few more BPCI events this year.

Miss Philippines Earth 2014: Bianca Paz's last hurrah for pageants

If you would notice it, Bianca Paz, Miss World Philippines 3rd Princess for 2013 is hardly visible to any CQGQ events, it has been Janicel Lubina, Zahra Saldua and Omarie Linn Osuna doing their chores with CQGQ, this may be the reason why as Bianca officially makes it to MPE 2014.

Bianca Paz is probably one of those pageant veterans in MPE. She was a former BBP'09 candidate, a BBP'11 candidate who was disqualified a few days before the finals night and a MWP '11 and '13 3rd Runner Up.

This year's candidates will compete for 5 crowns: Universe, International, Supranational, Tourism and Intercontinental, putting an end to rumors that the Bb. Pilipinas Charities have acquired the franchise to the Europe based pageant run by the World Beauty Organization as confirmed in the Ricky Lo report below:. 


In the previous years, Mutya ng Pilipinas is responsible for sending delegates to Miss Intercontinental, last of which is Koreen Medina who placed 3rd Runner Up and was the Queen of Asia & Oceania.

Throwback: Bb. Pilipinas 2002 Final Walk

While we can say that Binibini 2013 is actually the best batch, the Binibini 2001 winners still owns the bragging rights to having all its Top 5 winners do the final walk the following year. Aside from then reigning Bb. Pilipinas Universe 2001 Zorayda Andam, Bb. Pilipinas World Gilrhea Quinzon and Bb. Pilipinas International Maricarl Tolosa, then 1st Runner Up Michelle Reyes and 2nd Runner Up Maricar Balagtas were acknowledged as Miss Tourism International 2001 and Miss Globe 2001.

Balagtas later on joined in 2004 and was hailed as Miss Universe Philippines 2004.

Pilipinas 2014 (March 22 & 23), March 22 marks the annual parade of beauties where the 40 contestants along with the reigning queens are presented in the roads leading to Smart Araneta Coliseum, March 23 marks the primer of the Bb. Pilipinas 2014, tagged as The Road to the Crown and will be shown on Sunday's Best at ABS-CBN.

Rizza-Belen Diaz: Will she do an Alma Cabasal or surpass her predecessor even more?

Miss Philippines Earth-USA Eco-Tourism Rizza-Belen Diaz will be representing the Filipino Community of San Francisco, USA to the Miss Philippines Earth 2014 come this May. Rizza succeeds reigning Miss Philippines-Water (Miss Philippines-Earth Filipino Community-West Coast 2013) Alma Cabasal and she hopes she will have enough gear to be the best battle to at least surpass or make the most out of her trip to the Philippines.

Since it is Sunday, let's bring good vibes to the table shall we, here is the photo of the Golden Binibini batch of reigning queens: Cindy (Miss Tourism Queen International Finalist), Ara (Miss Universe 3rd Runner Up), Bea (Miss International 2013) and Mutya (Miss Supranational 2013). This photoshoot was most probably held in Montemar Beach Club in Bataan. The reigning queens are busy preparing their stuff before they turn over their crowns come March 30.

Have you ready your bets? Oh well, your guess is still as good as mine. I haven't had the chance to have my "final final" picks, for now, let's enjoy Sunday, and the picture of probably the best Binibini batch to my memory.

Odessa will be representing the country to the Miss Heritage World 2014 sometime in December at Lesotho. Miss Heritage Tourism was Nicole Shaye Dichoso while runners-up were Roselle Joy Duca (Luzon), Mary Grace Abruga (Visayas) and Celine Aparicio (Mindanao)

Bb. Pilipinas 2014: Is Vessica Sambo JDV's top bet for BBP 2014?

While there are camp-favorites Aces and Queens and Kagandahang Flores, Team John Dela Vega for Bb. Pilipinas 2014 should not be taken for granted, especially the towering presence of Vessica Sambo. Vessica, the reigning Reyna ng Bulacan is still actually my list of title holders, actually she can spoil very much for any of the titles, or a runners-up position just like how Ali Forbes made do in 2012 and eventually became the delegate to Miss Grand Philippines.

By the way, do you consider her as John Dela Vega's bet for Miss Grand Philippines (if in case she doesn't win a crown?)

Carla Lizardo for Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental?

Carla Lizardo almost didn't make it to the Official Candidates and is now tagged as a recalled queen (with Aiza Faeldonia) but this lady sure has what it takes to bag a crown. A former Mutya ng Pilipinas Intercontinental, Carla gave up her chance then to compete internationally to Christi Lynn McGarry in lieu of school requirements. 

Now part of the Top 40,  do you give Carla a chance at possibly winning BBP Intercontinental or are you placing her in the higher crowns such as Miss Universe PH and BBP-International?

Bb. Pilipinas 2014: 3rd Round of Top Picks

Releasing to you my 3rd Round Top Picks for Bb. Pilipinas 2014, I can't actually narrow down my list yet, so many things in mind, especially with the impending addition of the Miss Intercontinental Philippines title (if it will be added) or the 2nd Runner Up position (so many beautiful ladies, yes).



MISS UNIVERSE PHILIPPINES 2014 - Pia Wurtzbach

Pia is still my choice for Miss Universe Philippines, probably because she has been there, she knows what it takes to succeed Ara Arida and at the most, she has experienced working with BPCI. I still don't believe in the reward system though for Pia will give a lot of effort just to win that crown.

BB. PILIPINAS INTERNATIONAL 2014 - Kris Tiffany Janson

The Cebuana lass for me is my best candidate for BbP-I, unlike Miss Universe, winners of Miss International presents a doll-like aura and should supposedly be sweet and charming, I think she fits the bill.

BB. PILIPINAS TOURISM 2014 - Nichole Marie Manalo

Miss Tourism Queen International 2014 has always been in China and what better way to select a delegate than a girl who probably will stand out with them. Nichole Marie Manalo is my best bet to succeed Joanna Cindy Miranda and probably have the chance to win it all.

BB. PILIPINAS SUPRANATIONAL 2014 - Mary Jean Lastimosa
MJ deserves a crown, not because it's her last time to join BBP but I believe Kagandahang Flores training her to become a winner. MJ can go to Peru walking (and thinking) like a winner and with the reigning queen Mutya Datul with her in case she wins, I see room for a back-to-back Supra crown.

BB. PILIPINAS INTERCONTINENTAL 2014- Diana Arevalo
If and only if the 5th crown is true, I'd like Diana Arevalo to represent us to Miss Intercontinental 2014. Diana like MJ knows the ropes of BPCI too well to be left unnoticed and I believe a crown is indeed rightful for her.

Ma. Paula Bianca Paz and Martha Chloe McCulley: Are they your next Eco-Warriors?

Bianca and Chloe were part of the maiden edition of Miss World Philippines 2011

Rumor has it that Bianca Paz and Martha Chloe McCulley are making their last hurrah with the pageant scene as they both enter the Miss Philippines Earth 2014 competition. Bianca was 3rd Runner Up and Chloe was 2nd Runner Up in 2011 wherein the competition was won by Miss World 2011 1st Princess Gwendoline Ruais. Bianca took another chance in 2013 and still bagged the 3rd Runner Up behind eventual Miss World 2013 Megan Young.

If the two would make it I think the competition will be as tough as advertised.

OPMB Worldwide has posted on FB that there might be a 5th crown for Bb. Pilipinas 2014 which is the Miss Intercontinental crown. Though there is no confirmation yet from BPCI, pageant sources have deemed this mostly a done deal. 

If there is a Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2014, will there be 7 or just 6 winners? 

That is something I am wanting to find out myself.

With Kimverlyn Suiza joining Bb. Pilipinas 2014, Carousel Productions, owner of Miss Philippines-Earth announces the new Miss Philippines-Fire in Athina Chia of Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay. Nancy Leonard becomes Miss Philippines Air and Alma Cabasal becomes Miss Philippines Water. Miss Philippines-Eco Tourism Bernadette Aguirre retains her title.

Bb. Pilipinas 2014: Who's scared of Nichole Manalo?

I just read the article of Ricky Lo in Philippine Star, Admittedly, Nichole Marie Manalo, 24 is out to chase history which was set by her relatives: her aunt, Nini Ramos was Bb. Pilipinas International 1968, her elder sister Kate Manalo-Hernandez was Bb. Pilipinas World 2002 and Bianca was Miss Universe Philippines 2009. The nurse from Manila Doctors College Batch 2010 wants to prove that she isn't just the baby sister of Kate and Bianca and that packaging by Kagandahang Flores will allow her to win one crown period.

Is she winnable? My thoughts she can place at the Top 5 but definitely a lot of work ahead, but we'll like to give her a chance.

Taking a break from Bb. Pilipinas 2014, we go to the male pageants where Philippines is set to be represented in the Mister Global 2014 by Mister International Philippines 2013 1st Runner Up, Wilfred Placencia. The competition is to take place on March 22-27, 2014 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Wilfred is on the same team as Gil Wagas who was Mister International Philippines 2013 and Mister International 4th Runner Up.

Bb. Pilipinas 2014: Reigning queens at the JAG Fashion Show

The reigning queens Ariella Arida, Bea Rose Santiago, Mutya Datul and Cindy Miranda joined the 40 contestants in the JAG Fashion Show.

It is just simply fabulous how this ladies had been transformed by Madam Stella Marquez Araneta and the BPCI group in a matter of a year and becoming the best batch (to my memory) of Bb. Pilipinas winners. They may be turning over their respective crowns by March 30, but their achievements will be something memorable for the rest of their lives.

2 of 4 winners will still remain visible though, as Mutya Datul and Bea Rose Santiago will take part of Miss Supranational and Miss International 2014 (where we hope for a back to back, God willing!)
