Miss International 2014: Bianca Guidotti |
It is barely 2 days before reigning Miss International Bea Rose Santiago crowns her successor in the 54th Edition of Miss International for 2014 and there has admittedly been a tantamount of pressure for Bianca Guidotti, Bb. Pilipinas International 2014 to bring home the crown to the country and the 6th if possible.
This blog predicts for a back-to-back, pressure as it may seem but Guidotti has probably shown why she deserves to bring back the crown to the Philippines. Whatever happens, Bianca is already a winner in her own right and she is this blog's Miss International 2014.
Miss International 1st Runner Up: Vianney Vasquez (Mexico)
In terms of physique and international appeal, Vianney Vasquez is on top of the list, if she can ace the "speech" competition, she may be eventually bring home the third crown for Mexico.
Miss International 2nd Runner Up: Shauny Bult (Netherlands)
Shauny has been through international pageant competitions with Miss Earth 2012 and this blog believes she will use her experiences to capitalize on finally landing a spot in a major pageant.
Miss International 3rd Runner Up: Jhataleka Malhotra (India)
It may shock you that India have not won a Miss International crown but their 2014 bet, Jhataleka may change the game this year. If the stars align, she may be finishing the drought by winning the Mikimoto crown for India.
Miss International 4th Runner Up: Michelle Bertollini (Venezuela)
With Elian Herrera not entering the Top 15 last year, Michelle Bertollini will try everything within her power to be able to at least enter the Top 5 or win the crown for Venezuela to make it 7 in the history of Miss International. Osmel (franchise owner of Miss Venezuela) has his eyes on the crown and a softer Bertollini may work to the appeal of the Miss International judges this time around.
Spoilers (will make up my Top 10):
Punika Kulsoontornrut (Thailand)
The big leap Polly made by foregoing an existing contract as Miss Earth Water 2013 to enter Miss International is something to note in the finals. She may be seen in the Top 10 but will take a lot of effort to enter the Top 5 and hopefully, the dethronement issue will not be a factor, BQO would like to see Polly in the MI Top 5 or more so to be the Miss International 2014.
Deise Benicio (Brazil)
The Brazilian Beauty has made to 3 consecutive Top 15 appearances and this blog thinks that Deise has enough to be able to reach the Top 10.
Ruqayyah Boyer (Guyana)
Ruqayyah's experience span from Miss Universe 2012 and Miss World 2013 which can be useful to her quest for the Miss International crown. We regard Ruqaayah placing in the Top 10 of Miss International and with a little more effort, she may be spoiling this year's court.
Zuleika Suarez (Colombia)
It has been 10 long years since Colombia has won the crown with Jeymmy Paola Vargas and last year's Miss Colombia, Cindy Hermida almost made it the Miss International 2013 court, surely, Zuleika has done everything from the fittings, trainings to try to equal Hermida's placement or win the MI crown from Colombia after 10 years.
Rocio Tormo (Spain)
Rocio Tormo has this look that made us feel she will reach the Final 10 of Miss International 2014. With a little softer makeup and fabulous gown, she can make pass through the eliminations and reach the speech round.
The speech round question: Why you want to be Miss International?
Unlike Miss Universe and other pageants, there is only one question for Miss International, when this year's finalists are named, they will answer to their speech the question, Why do you want to be Miss International. In a previous interview, Bea Rose Santiago mentions that it is harder to formulate a speech with existing speeches from previous winners. This blogger believes that this will be a difference maker when the Top 10 is formally named.
