The Search is on for the next Miss Philippines-Earth 2015

So have you recovered from the last national contest? Now it's high time to start writing about Miss Philippines Earth 2015. The Finals Night would not be on the end of May but a few names have already been placed in the Miss Philippines-Earth website. 





These are reportedly just a few names and some more are expected to join them after the holy week. Who will succeed Miss Earth 2014 Jamie Herrell? The Miss Philippines Earth 2015 will be on May 30, 2015 at the Mall of Asia Arena and will be broadcasted by ABS-CBN

Athena Catriz wins 3rd Runner Up in Miss Summer International 2015

Athena Catriz placed fourth (3rd Runner Up) in the recently concluded Miss Summer International 2015 in Baranquilla, Colombia. 
Athena, one of the four Tourism Ambassadors in last year's Miss Global Philippines behind Miss Global Philippines 2014 and Miss Global 2nd Runner Up Catherine Almirante also took home the Miss Photogenic Award.

Janicel Lubina on Aquino and Abunda Tonight

Newly-crowned Bb. Pilipinas International Janicel Lubina was a recent guest at Aquino and Abunda Tonight.

Notice the crown? there was a swap between her and Bb. Pilipinas Tourism  Ann Lorraine Colis (but not the titles), if you recall during the crowning ceremony, then outgoing queen Bianca Guidotti crowned Janicel and then the crown slipped her head.

Anyway, going back to the Aquino and Abunda interview, Janicel showed how much he has improved from her trainings with Kagandahang Flores and you would be amazed how she recalls her life before as a "kasamabahay".

"You can choose the life you want", indeed, Janicel's story is an inspiration to everybody, we wish her the best especially on her journey for the Philippines 6th Miss International Crown.

No switch: Christi McGarry keeps the Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental crown

Rogelie and Christi: Not Switching Places 

This may be late but Bb. Pilipinas Official has already announced that contrary to what was published in various pages, Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 2015 Rogelie Catacutan and Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2015 Christi Lynn McGarry will keep their respective titles. Christi will be allowed to compete for Miss Intercontinental 2015 despite joining the competition in 2010 and becoming a part of the Top 15 and the Queen of Asia and Oceania.

Let's wish both Rogelie and Christi the best of luck :)

Meet the new Miss Philippines Fire for Miss Philippines Earth 2015 Coronation

A new Miss Philippines Fire has been proclaimed in lieu of the AWOL Bianca Paz.

Bencelle Bianzon, a runner-up in last year's Miss Philippines Earth 2014 will crown the Miss Philippines Fire 2015 winner. She has joined the 4 other reigning queens: Jamie, Diane, Kim and Monique in shooting the BTS for Miss Philippines Earth 2015.

Bianca was in the same predicament in 2013 where she didn't fulfill her duties with CQGQ when the latter was proclaimed 3rd Runner Up for the second time in a row.

Rogelie Catacutan: KF Cebu's Gem for Miss Supranational 2015

KF Cebu's Jonas Borces must be real proud right after the Bb. Pilipinas 2014 where Kris Tiffany Janson won the very first Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental title and went on to Miss Intercontinental 2014 as 2nd Runner Up, their sole bet for 2015, Rogelie Catacutan is also in the Top 5 as Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 2015.

 Now that no switching of crowns will happen with Christi Lynn McGarry and Rogelie Catacutan, Rogelie's camp along with BPCI can focus on how to conquer the Poland-based competition. She reminds me a lot of Miss Supranational 2013 Mutya Datul who will seem to be a breathe of fresh air to the Supranational candidates come pre-pageant events. 

 Rogelie's message to her fans via her Official Facebook page:

 "I know this week has been a roller coaster ride for me with the all the things happening, but I am still your Bb. Pilipinas - Supranational. I am very happy for whatever the result is, I won this title and I love it already. God has given me this and I know it has its purpose. 
To my family and friends, my supporters, to everyone who believe in my capacity and capability, A BIG THANK YOU! I will not be this determined and strong to face and finish this journey. I am very excited to train for my international competition! Thank you!"

Hannah Ruth Sison: Dutiful for one more year

Up to now, my heart bleeds for Bb. Pilipinas 2015 1st Runner Up Hannah Ruth Sison. Truth be told, the placement isn't bad but coming in as 2nd Runner Up last year, no one can hide the fact that she wanted a crown  this year.

There were a lot of rumors on how she handled it after she got the 1st Runner Up award and was awarded by her 2014 BFF Laura Lehmann but for me, it's not because Hannah can't handle failure as to why she cried, Hannah spent 3 years straight of her BPCI journey. To those saying she's OA, try putting yourself in her shoes and check if you will not feel the same way she did.

I was glad to see her up on her feet on a few pageant pages where she joined Pia Wurtzbach, Janicel Lubina, Christi Lynn McGarry, Rogelie Catacutan, Ann Colis and Kimverlyn Suiza, it may not be the perfect ending to her beauty queen aspirations but being part of the Top 7 for 2 straight years is undeniably an achievement.


Will Hannah Ruth Sison be fielded abroad? I hope so.

The Curious Case of Christi Lynn McGarry

First and foremost, I would like to congratulate all the winners of Bb. Pilipinas 2015.

Truth be told, it was not the Pia Wurtzbach victory nor Janicel Lubina's road to Miss International that I got curious about, it was Christi Lynn McGarry's victory as Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2015 that got me wondering.

How can she be competing in an international pageant she has competed 5 years ago?

You see, Christi was a replacement for Carla Jenina Lizardo in Miss Intercontinental 2010, she was a part of the Top 15 and won the Special Award Queen of Asia and Oceania.

It was reported through Sashfactor that the deliberation panel was not aware that McGarry has already competed with Miss Intercontinental and BPCI will look upon this matter immediately.

There are 2 possible scenarios that will happen: The first one is Rogelie Catacutan (Supranational) will switch titles with McGarry which is a consideration that is most acceptable now.

The second, McGarry switches places with 1st Runner Up Hannah Ruth Sison. Hannah gets to compete with Miss Intercon while McGarry can wait for a year to compete again.

But from the looks of it, the McGarry-Catacutan switch may happen, BPCI likes Christi and there is no way that McGarry will be left uncrowned.

We'll just have to wait and see. , , , ,

The 52nd Edition of Bb. Pilipinas will happen on Sunday, March 15, 2015 with Mary Jean Lastimosa (Miss Universe Top 10 Finalist), Mary Anne Bianca Guidotti (Bb. Pilipinas International), Yvethe Marie Santiago (Bb. Pilipinas Supranational), Kris Tiffany Janson (Miss Intercontinental 2014 2nd Runner Up) and Parul Shah (Bb. During their visit to the JAG Flagship Store, the lensman managed to capture into a photo 5 of the front runners for the Bb. Pilipinas 2015 crowns on Sunday - Pia Wurtzbach, Nancy Leonard, Janicel Lubina, Teresita Ssen Marquez and Christi Lynn McGarry, while the arrangement is not intentional, what if this was the Top 5 for this year, how will you arrange them? 

For me:

McGarry - Miss Universe Philippines
Marquez - Bb. Pilipinas International 
Lubina - Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 
Leonard - Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental

Can Ann or Toni pull an Ariella Arida?

Back in 2013, Ariella Arida was not even in the list of pageant forumers to win the Bb. Pilipinas Universe award and low and behold, she did win and went to Russia to be named as Miss Universe 2013 3rd Runner Up.

This year, people had their fair share of talking about the front runners, Janicel, Pia, Hannah, Wynwyn for the matter, for this one, let's divert our attention to two ladies who may spoil the party by winning the Miss Universe Philippines 2015 Award, Ann Lorraine Colis and Toni Alyessa Hipolito.

Ann, 22 is a graduate of University of Santo Tomas and is taking up her second degree. She may seem to fit that "intelligence" criteria that the last 5 Miss Universe Philippines winners seemed to possess. She is in this to win it.

Toni. 25 was a product of Bb. Pilipinas 2008 and 2010 who is currently a news anchor and an advocate of ethical treatment for animals. The Bb. Pilipinas Primer opened the door for her to gain more following as she definitely knows how to carry herself well enough in front of the camera and even in the National Costume Competition.

Any two can fit to Madam Stella Marquez Araneta's criteria of being the top queen for 2015, The question now is:  Will any two of tem spoil the Miss Universe Philippines frontrunners? Who will succeed Mary Jean Lastimosa? , , ,

Pinay Beauty Queen Academy Season 2 All Set

A bigger and bolder Pinay Beauty Queen Academy Season 2 will return to your TV screens with 4 new mentors: Miss Earth 2004 Priscilla Meirelles - Estrada, Miss Universe Philippines 2000 Nina Ricci Alagao, Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago and Miss Universe 2011 3rd Runner Up Shamcey Supsup-Lee.

 PBQA is targeting at least official 40 candidates and its pilot episode will be airing on June 2014.

 The winner of the 2nd Season of Pinay Beauty Queen Academy will take part to Miss Grand International 2015.

 The second season will still be hosted by Miss Grand International 2013 3rd Runner Up Annalie Forbes.  , , , , ,

Judah Cohen: Mister Tourism International Philippines 2015

After Neil Perez (Mister International 2014/15), Adam Rhys Davies (Mister Model International 3rd Runner Up) and Joseph Doruelo (Mister Global Semifinalist), the last winner of Misters of the Philippines, Judah Cohen, will be competing at the latter part of this year.

Judah will represent the country to the Mister Tourism World Final on Panama City from May 24-June 1, 2015.

Nguyen Van Son is the new Mister Global for 2015 

Nguyen Van Son of Vietnam edged out 20 candidates to become the Mister Global 2015, his runners-up include: 1st Runner Up Yuber Jimenez of Venezuela, 2nd Runner Up Apiwit Kunadireck of Thailand, 3rd Runner Up Diogo Bernardes of Brazil and 4th Runner Up Bryan Weber of France. 

Philippine bet Joseph Doruelo from the Misters of the Philippines 2014 competition made it as a semifinalist (Top 13).

Winners of Mr. Republic of the Philippines 2015

The first search for Mr. Republic of the Philippines ended in a formal finals night at the Maynila Ballroom of the Manila Hotel. 

Announced as the winners are Archie Severino who was named as Mr. Worldwide Philippines 2015, Ian Barrett who was named Mr. Model of the World Philippines International/WCOPA 2015 and Wilfred Placencia who was named as Mr. Runway Model of the World Philippines 2015 (If you have seen him already in this blog, he already represented the country to Mr. Global 2014) 

The three new titleholders had three runners-up: Carl Lagana, Vincent Loga and Benedict Tan, 2nd Runners Up are Marc Paulo Noces, Allain De Ocampo and Ronald Kim Legaspi. 3rd Runners Up are John Raphael Camitan, Dennis Keliag and John Ver Sabangan.

Archie will be joining the Mr. Worldwide 2015 competition in Orlando, Florida, Wilfred will be the host delegate of the Mr. Runway Worldwide International in October while Ian will be travelling to the Model International competition in WCOPA.

The Bb. Pilipinas reigning queens and 2015 candidates were presented in the annual Parade of Beauties around the Araneta Coliseum & Cubao Area on Saturday, March 7, 2015

The 2014 Reigning Queens 

2014 isn't really that successful year for Bb. Pilipinas after a string of achievements on 2013 but truth be told, the 2014 queens are really have really bonded and learned through their achievements which would make them better individuals after their reigns which will end on March 15.
