Beauties with a Cause.

Spotted are 2012 Miss Universe 1st RU Janine Tugonon and Bb. Pilipinas 1st Runner-Up 2012 Ali Forbes joining the 2013 Queens (Ara Arida, Cindy Miranda, Bea Rose Santiago and Pia Wurtzbach) during the Sagip Kapamilya Relief Operation for the victims of Typhoon Maring and Habagat.

 I would really like to see Pia for 2014 (granting that SMA will not apply the same rules applied to Elaine Kay Moll and Ali Forbes for this year).

Zahra Bianca Saldua: My MWP 2013 Dark Horse

Half Filipino-Half Palestinian Zahra Bianca Saldua was the lady I considered a dark horse in the contest and true enough, she was 2nd Princess in the recent Miss World Philippines 2013. Following her muslim roots, she went to the ramp wearing a different swimsuit from the candidates, managing to bag the Miss Friendship and Miss Pantene award and the 2nd Princess title from Vanessa Amman, last year's Miss World Philippines 2nd Princess.

I would like to see her in another pageant soon, meanwhile, she has to fulfill events/duties along with Janicel, Bianca and Omarie for CQGQ and Miss World Philippines.

The 3rd Edition of Miss World Philippines was held Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the Solaire Resorts and Casino with Queenie Rehman, MWP 2012 crowning Megan Lynne Young as MWP 2013. Megan earns the right to represent the country to Indonesia for Miss World 2013.

Pardon me for not blogging for quite some time due to heavy rains brought by Maring and Habagat. I bring to you a simple photo of Miss Supranational Philippines 2013 Mutya Johanna Datul who is currently in Belarus for Miss Supranational 2013. Me thinks she will at least equal the placement of last year's Miss Supranational Philippines Elaine Kay Moll (who was Miss Supranational 2012 3rd RU) or she may be out to win it all.

My Miss World Philippines 2013 Predictions

The 3rd Edition of Miss World Philippines will be having its Coronation Night tonight, August 18, 2013 at the Solaire Resorts and Casino where Queenie Rehman (2012 Miss World Philippines) will crown her successor at the end of the event.

Just before all the hooplah, here are my choices:
 
Our MWP 2013: Megan Lynne Young 
Jonas Gaffud's sole bet to Miss World Philippines 2013 (A&Q) is seen as everybody's choice for the crown. While we do not discount the fact that there are 24 other ladies, Megan has been doing activities related to the causes of Miss World and is tagged as the lady more than ready to capture the PH's first MW crown.
  
1st Princess: Ma. Paula Bianca Paz
There is already a vast improvement on Bianca's screening for MWP 2013 and she has known CQGQ since she joined the contest in 2011 where she was Miss World Philippines 3rd Princess. While we do not count her out for the crown, We believe that Megan will conquer it (or Bianca may spoil the fun!)
 
2nd Princess: Janicel Lubina
We put Janicel Lubina in the 2nd Princess spot mainly because our gut feel tells us that we want to see her in Miss Bikini International first and in Bb. Pilipinas 2014 next year. The former Miss Scuba Philippines is out to give Megan and Bianca a run for the crown.
3rd Princess: Patricia Ejercitado
It would be more than just a semifinal slot for Patricia Lae Ejercitado, whose experience span 2 editions of Bb. Pilipinas. Pat for us will be the more successful RL bet (the other is Ria Rabajante).
 
4th Princess: Vina Openiano
While we expected her to be a Mutya ng Pilipinas front-runner, Vina was able to reach the Top 10, we tabbed her in as the 4th Princess, she had what it takes to win the crown, it would just take triple the effort to win it.

Paula Bianca Paz: One More Time for the Crown

Coming back for one more time on the same pageant can prove to be a gamble especially if you have already placed it on your first try. Some are victorious with this gamble (Dianne Necio 2010 1st Runner Up turned Bb. Pilipinas International 2011 and Janine Tugonon 2011 1st Runner Up turned Miss Universe Philippines 2012) while some went away with placements lower than their first try (Mary Jean Lastimosa 2nd Runner Up in 2011 and a Semifinalist in 2012 as an example). 

On the side of Miss World Philippines, now on its 3rd year, one lady coming back for the crown is 24 year old Ma. Paula Bianca Paz, who was MWP 2011 3rd RU behind Gwendoline Ruais, Helen Nicolette Henson and Martha Chloe McCulley. She made it to the official list of candidates for 2013, but with equally astonishing candidates in Megan Young, Patricia Ejercitado, Samantha Bernardo and more, will the gamble pay off for her?

Catch Bianca and 25 other candidates for Miss World Philippines 2013 on their Coronation Night come August 18 where Queenie Rehman crowns her successor to represent PH to Miss World 2013 in Indonesia.

Miss World Philippines 2013 Official Candidates

Familiar faces graced the Press Presentation of Miss World Philippines 2013 which was held last Wednesday, July 31 which was held in Solaire Resorts and Casino.
Megan Young, an actress/host made it to the final list of contestants. Expected to be the front-runner for Miss World Philippines, Megan will have her hands full with other candidates - Paula Bianca Paz (Miss World Philippines 2011 3rd Princess), Nicole Marable and Patricia Ejercitado both contestants of Bb. Pilipinas 2012, Ria Rabajante, Kc Cajandig and Zandra Flores, all contestants from Binibining Pilipinas Gold.

Also joining the MWP contest is Janicel Lubina, reigning Miss Bikini International 2013.
