Bb. Pilipinas 2015: The Search is ON!

We've seen Bianca finish her Miss International stint, Kris and Yvethe are already in the thick of things with their respective competitions while MJ will be on the final home stretch of her preparations for Miss Universe so it is but high time to promote that The Search is on for the next queens of Bb. Pilipinas 2015.

Of course there are a lot of names to actually look into: the return of the 2014 runners-up whether they will entertain it most especially for Hannah Ruth Sison who has been active in almost every BPCI gatherings, ladies trying one more time like Nichole Manalo, crossover ladies who had been successful in other pageants like Nancy Leonard who was Miss Philippines Air 2013.

Not much still to say but despite the tacky outfits, recycled gowns of sorts, Bb. Pilipinas is still something people look up into.

The deadline (with no extending attended) is set to January 2015.

Will Leo Almodal design MJ Lastimosa's Miss Universe gown?

Jamie Herrell wore a Leo Almodal creation that brought her to the Miss Earth 2014 crown so when pageant fans/netizens saw Miss Universe Philippines Mary Jean Lastimosa posting for Leo Almodal, they seemed to have a big glimmer of hope that MJ will not be going to Doral, Miami wearing a Barraza creation.

For those of you who do not know Alfredo Barraza, he is a Colombian designer providing the gowns for the international pageants under BPCI. Truth be told, if you would look at other placements we had in Miss Universe you may say that the tacky outfits of Barraza worked well for Venus Raj, Shamcey Supsup, Janine Tugonon and Ariella Arida which gave us 4 consecutive Top 5 placements, but admittedly, our judgment has been it would have been better, especially in the 2012 edition where Tugonon gave Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo a good fight.

Rumors has been that Kris Tiffany Janson will be wearing a Cary Santiago creation and that her handlers had come to terms with BPCI but until then, I would have to wait for Kris' gown as well as of the gown of MJ, if it will be by Almodal, it must be something glamorous.

Miss Earth 2014: Venezuela gamble to a Miss Earth Water 2014 finish

Miss Earth Top 4: Maira (Water), Jamie (Earth), Andrea (Air), Anastasia (Fire)

The last time I went writing on with the blog, I specified the gamble it was for Osmel Sousa in fielding in a freshly crowned Maira Rodriguez in lieu of the original Miss Earth Venezuela for 2014, Stephanie De Zorzi, you see, Venezuela is used to crowning their delegates a year early for them to be polished early during their respective competitions.

Maira did perform well and was crowned as Miss Earth Water 2014 behind winner Jamie Herrell and Miss Earth Air 2014 Andrea Neu, truth be told, It is already given that Maira will be in the Top 4 for me as I watched the competition and truly, a water finish is something Osmel should be proud about.

Congratulations again to Jamie (Earth), Andrea (Air), Maira (Water) and Anastasia (Fire)!

A New Miss Earth to be crowned

Tonight, Miss Earth 2013 Alyz Henrich will be passing on her crown to a new Earth Warrior and we must say that the Venezuelan beauty queen did more than what was expected from her during the struggles experienced during the first part of her reign and she'll be passing it on later with a fulfilled mantra that she was able to fulfill the duties of becoming a true Earth Warrior.

Will this be the scene tonight? Alyz Henrich (Miss Earth 2013) side by side with Miss Earth Venezuela 2014 Maira Rodriguez
Now, who do you you think best fits the title Miss Earth 2014? Will it be her 2014 counterpart Maira Alexandra Rodriguez? Will they make history once more by having the first Miss Earth back-to-back victory or will Alyz crown the more popular bets? or will the host delegate, Jamie Herrell of the Philippines bring the country its second Miss Earth crown after a fellow Cebuana in Karla Henry back in 2008.

We're all equally excited, the Miss Earth 2014 competition will happen tonight, November 29, 2014 at the UP Theater with live feed from Rappler.com. Starworld reportedly will broadcast the competiton tomorrow, November 30, 2014 at 8:55AM and ABS-CBN will also have a delayed telecast at 10:30 AM.

The recent posting of pictures of Patricia Tumulak in the Miss Multiverse Pageant should dispel the idea that Patty is not pushing through with the competition.

Kagandahang Flores Girls for Miss Earth and Miss Intercontinental 2014

Rodgil Flores (red) with (L-R) Kris, Jamie and Eva (Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia Pacific International)

Jamie Herrell, Miss Philippines Earth 2014 is already on the final leg of the Miss Earth pageant to happen on Saturday, November 29. She has done a marvelous job with almost every competition, gathering medals in pre-pageant activities and doing enough to get nods of various prediction sites.

Kris Tiffany Janson, Miss Philippines Intercontinental 2014 is already in Germany for the December 4, she blends well with Asians, Latinas and other nationalities, it may be Binibini's first franchise title but surely Kris is showing why she deserves to be the country's first Miss Intercontinental.

Miss Earth 2014: Will it be the battle of the trio?

ME2014

An article I've recently read in Missosology opened up my thoughts on the trio of Brazil, Venezuela and the Philippines for Miss Earth 2014. Truth be told, the three countries have placed in Miss Earth more often than the others, either the elemental crown or the Miss Earth crown (Brazil with Priscilla Meirelles in 2004, Venezuela with Alexandra Braun in 2005 and Alyz Henrich in 2013 and Pjilippines with Karla Henry in 2008).

If we are going to look at it, Jamie, Leticia and Maira are grouped separately in the group competitions, but each with the challenge for each medal contest. Jamie does not rest on the fact that she's a hometown girl, Maira wanted to prove that she's up for the contest even if she was sent a year early while Leticia is out to bring Brazil back to the Top 16.

I would not go to the history but for me, I would not mind to see Jamie, Leticia and Maira make it to Miss Earth 2014 and its elemental court.

After Miss Earth 2014, Brazil was placed in the Top 8, Venezuela had the Miss Earth Water crown while Philippines took home the Miss Earth 2014 crown

Kris Janson for Miss Intercontinental 2014

image

Kris Tiffany Janson is on a mission to bring home the country's first Miss Intercontinental crown and her quest starts as she leaves on Saturday, November 22 enroute to Germany. She already had her send-off yesterday with her sisters the Bb. Pilipinas 2014 Queens, her Cebu mentor Jonas Borces and BPCI's Madam Stella Marquez Araneta and Ms. Conchintina Sevilla-Bernardo.

Best of luck to our dear Kris Tiffany! Bring home the crown if you can. :)

Miss Intercontinental 2014: Kris Tiffany Janson's quest for the FIRST crown for PH

Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental Kris Janson
It is indeed a busy, busy pageant season for pageant bloggers trying to blog mostly about different contests, there was the Miss International, Miss Earth in Manila, Miss Supranational in Poland and then the Miss Intercontinental pageant with the 43rd Edition  coming up on December 4, 2014 9 PM at Hotel Maritim in Madeburg (The pageant was even earlier than Miss Supranational 2014 to which BPCI's Yvethe Marie Santiago had already rode the plane today, November 16, 2014 aboard to London and then a connecting flight to Warsaw before landing to the host city of Miss Supranational 2014). The Philippine bet, Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental Kris Tiffany Janson will be having her send-off this week by BPCI before she enroutes to Germany for her quest for the first crown in the Miss Intercontinental beauty contest currently held by Russian Ekaterina Plekhova (Miss Intercontinental 2013). As what was mentioned before in this blog, Kris, being the first titleholder of the Intercontinental crown under the BPCI franchise does not have the luxury of asking the previous title holder of what goes on with Miss Intercontinental (previous titleholder was Andrea Koreen Medina which was selected by the Mutya ng Pilipinas) so Kris will be bringing with her the trainings she got with Kagandahang Flores, BPCI, ESA and Dale Carnegie to nail the first crown for Miss Intercontinental for the Philippines.

My deep thoughts: We'd love Kris to take home the crown, who doesn't? In the history of Miss Intercontinental, the Philippines highest placement then was of Maria Sovietskaya Bacud who was 2nd Runner Up in the 1993 edition but I'd like to see Kris enjoy herself in Madeburg, after all it is still a once-in-a-lifetime experience and may the wardrobe thing by BPCI be addressed after netizens saw what happened to Bianca Guidotti (there were reports that Kris is fitting Cary Santiago gowns for this competition, crossing my fingers until we see it personally).

Yvethe Santiago off to Poland for Miss Supranational 2014

Yvethe Santiago's collection of send-off photos (not of the blog)

Miss Supranational Philippines Yvethe Santiago is already off to Poland, she is flying to London via Philippine Airlines and she will be riding a connecting flight to Warsaw before going to Krynica- Zdroj to where she will begin her quest for Miss Supranational 2014 crown.

It is probably cliche that we do not want a back to back, but we want to say Yvethe, enjoy the competition, whatever happens we are very proud of you. ,

Miss World 2014: Flora Coquerel tries to exceed Marine Lorphelin

When your predecessor almost made it to the crown last year, it is upon everybody's expectations that you would most likely prepare well to nail it.
Flora Coquerel.JPG
This is probably how Flora Coquerel (photo) Miss France 2014 feels right now as she prepares for Miss World 2014. Flora follows the success of Miss France 2013 Marine Lorphelin who was just a few inches closer to the crown won by Megan Young and was also hailed as the Miss World Europe.

The 20 year old model will be flying to London to compete at the Miss World pageant and succeed PH's Megan Young at December 2014.

Definitely this Bennian-French model is somebody on my list for the crown.

Miss World 2014: Valerie Weigmann's Contestant Introduction

Profile photo from the Miss World Website
This is very much an interesting time of the year for pageant fans isn't it, almost everything happens at the same time. For Miss World 2014, there is that extreme excitement for Philippine pageant fans as they had seen the reign of Miss World 2013 Megan Young, they had level up their expectations with Valerie Weigmann, reigning Miss World Philippines to be able to just do the same, admittedly a back-to-back is what people expect (even your blogger does).

Valerie is in continuous training before she departs for London under the camp of Aces and Queens where she is closely training with Bb. Pilipinas ladies Bianca Guidotti and Yvethe Santiago. Reports mentioned that she will be wearing a Michael Cinco gown on road to the finals.

For now, kindly check out her introduction video uploaded by the Official Miss World Channel and express your thoughts on this blog.

After Bianca: Yvethe, Kris and MJ

It's MJ, Kris and Yvethe for Binibini 2014

I could not find a picture that will best represent the three remaining ladies from Bb. Pilipinas who would compete for 2014 until I saw this.

Bianca's Miss International journey has been through and despite the disappointing finish, your blogger believes that she did her best.

Yvethe follows suit and will leave Sunday, November 16 for another quest for a back-to-back in Miss Supranational 2014. She has already been given her send-off and is now preparing to go to Poland.

Kris almost follows a few days after Yvethe will be leaving probably at around November 22 for the Miss Intercontinental Pageant which will happen in Germany.

MJ will compete under the first month of 2015, the last lady will represent the country to Doral, Miami, Florida for the right to succeed Gabriela Isler.

Gooduck ladies! , , ,

Punika Kulsoontornrut: From Miss Earth Water 2013 to Miss International 2014 2nd Runner Up

She made a controversial decision when she opted not to finish her contract with Carousel Productions as Miss Earth Water 2013 to jump straight to Miss International 2014 and got the same result: a 2nd Runner Up placement this year for Punika "Polly" Kulsoontornrut.

Does this vindicate her from leaving the Miss Earth Organization? Congratulations Polly from the Philippines!

Cheers for Miss International Philippines Bianca Guidotti

Most say it was the gown that caused Miss Philippines- International Bianca Guidotti a spot in the Top 10 and the mission for a Bea to Bianca was aborted but this blogger believes that we should still cheer until the return of our very own Bianca.

You gave us a good representation Bianca! Until the next Miss International pageant for the Philippines.

Send-off for Bb. Pilipinas Supranational Yvethe Marie Santiago

The 2014 Queens with reigning Miss Supranational Mutya Datul and Madam Stella Marquez Araneta

The second of the 2014 Bb. Pilipinas queens was formally given her send-off late this afternoon, November 10, 2014 at the Balay, Araneta Center. Bb. Pilipinas Supranational Yvethe Marie Santiago will leave on November 16, 2014 to fly to Poland and bring to the country a back-to-back victory hopefully at the Miss Supranational 2014 pageant. Present at her send-off are the reigning queens (minus Bianca Guidotti who is still at the finals of Miss International 2014) Miss Universe Philippines Mary Jean Lastimosa, Bb. Pilipinas Tourism Parul Shah, Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental Kris Janson, Bb. Pilipinas 1st Runner Up Laura Lehmann and Bb. pilipinas 2nd Runner Up Hannah Ruth Sison.

Also joining them for the festivities is Miss Supranational 2013 Mutya Datul and Madam Stella Marquez Araneta. Messages of encouragement came from her sisters, her mother Nida and Miss Supranational '13 Mutya who has constantly advised Yvethe throughout her preparations. Like Bianca, Yvethe knows that the Filipinos have set high expectations on her to win the crown.

You reading this blog post is certainly hoping that the photo beside this wordings is really for back-to-back.

Maira in, Stephanie Out: Will Venezuela gamble work for a back-to-back?

By now, you have already learned that Maira Alexandra Rodriguez, winner of Miss Venezuela Tierra 2014 who is supposedly the country's representative to Miss Earth 2015 is now the official representative to Miss Earth 2014. De Zorzi, the original Miss Earth Venezuela for 2014 is reportedly replaced because she has gained weight that all the gowns she has fitted does not fit her anymore.

Normally, Venezuelan delegates are used to have a year's worth of preparation, but for Osmel Sousa, fielding in De Zorzi may not be a good idea thus she opted Rodriguez to go in early than expected. Will the gamble work and will this produce a back-to-back after a successful reign of Alyz Henrich?

Beauty Queens Online's Miss International 2014 Predictions

 Miss International 2014: Bianca Guidotti
It is barely 2 days before reigning Miss International Bea Rose Santiago crowns her successor in the 54th Edition of Miss International for 2014 and there has admittedly been a tantamount of pressure for Bianca Guidotti, Bb. Pilipinas International 2014 to bring home the crown to the country and the 6th if possible.

This blog predicts for a back-to-back, pressure as it may seem but Guidotti has probably shown why she deserves to bring back the crown to the Philippines. Whatever happens, Bianca is already a winner in her own right and she is this blog's Miss International 2014.

Miss International 1st Runner Up: Vianney Vasquez (Mexico)

In terms of physique and international appeal, Vianney Vasquez is on top of the list, if she can ace the "speech" competition, she may be eventually bring home the third crown for Mexico.

Miss International 2nd Runner Up: Shauny Bult (Netherlands)

Shauny has been through international pageant competitions with Miss Earth 2012 and this blog believes she will use her experiences to capitalize on finally landing a spot in a major pageant.

Miss International 3rd Runner Up: Jhataleka Malhotra (India)

It may shock you that India have not won a Miss International crown but their 2014 bet, Jhataleka may change the game this year. If the stars align, she may be finishing the drought by winning the Mikimoto crown for India.

Miss International 4th Runner Up: Michelle Bertollini (Venezuela)

With Elian Herrera not entering the Top 15 last year, Michelle Bertollini will try everything within her power to be able to at least enter the Top 5 or win the crown for Venezuela to make it 7 in the history of Miss International. Osmel (franchise owner of Miss Venezuela) has his eyes on the crown and a softer Bertollini may work to the appeal of the Miss International judges this time around.

Spoilers (will make up my Top 10):

Punika Kulsoontornrut (Thailand)

The big leap Polly made by foregoing an existing contract as Miss Earth Water 2013 to enter Miss International is something to note in the finals. She may be seen in the Top 10 but will take a lot of effort to enter the Top 5 and hopefully, the dethronement issue will not be a factor, BQO would like to see Polly in the MI Top 5 or more so to be the Miss International 2014.

Deise Benicio (Brazil)

The Brazilian Beauty has made to 3 consecutive Top 15 appearances and this blog thinks that Deise has enough to be able to reach the Top 10.

Ruqayyah Boyer (Guyana)

Ruqayyah's experience span from Miss Universe 2012 and Miss World 2013 which can be useful to her quest for the Miss International crown. We regard Ruqaayah placing in the Top 10 of Miss International and with a little more effort, she may be spoiling this year's court.

Zuleika Suarez (Colombia)

It has been 10 long years since Colombia has won the crown with Jeymmy Paola Vargas and last year's Miss Colombia, Cindy Hermida almost made it the Miss International 2013 court, surely, Zuleika has done everything from the fittings, trainings to try to equal Hermida's placement or win the MI crown from Colombia after 10 years.

Rocio Tormo (Spain)

Rocio Tormo has this look that made us feel she will reach the Final 10 of Miss International 2014. With a little softer makeup and fabulous gown, she can make pass through the eliminations and reach the speech round.

The speech round question: Why you want to be Miss International?
Unlike Miss Universe and other pageants, there is only one question for Miss International, when this year's finalists are named, they will answer to their speech the question, Why do you want to be Miss International. In a previous interview, Bea Rose Santiago mentions that it is harder to formulate a speech with existing speeches from previous winners. This blogger believes that this will be a difference maker when the Top 10 is formally named.

Alyz Henrich in Aquino and Abunda Tonight

Reigning Miss Earth Alyz Henrich went back to the Philippines early to prepare for pre-pageant competitions leaning closer to her crowning Miss Earth 2014. She was recently a guest in Aquino & Abunda Tonight where she had a one-on-one interview with Boy Abunda where she gamely answered the questions if she is open to having a career in the Philippines and questions relating to the 2014 contest.

Ruqayyah Boyer: Is she a lucky charm for the Philippines

Last 2012, Ruqayyah Boyer was Miss Guyana when she first ventured to the major pageant scene in Miss Universe, our Janine Tugonon was Miss Universe 1st Runner Up.

Last year, Ruqayyah was Miss World Guyana in Bali, Indonesia to where she shared moments with our very own Megan Young who later on became Philippines' first Miss World.

Now this year, Ruqayyah represents her country in the Miss International pageant, will she be the lucky charm for the Philippines' Bianca Guidotti or will she be the shining star after November 11.

One thing's for sure, Ruqayyah has learned to love Filipinas whether they are from the Miss Universe, Miss World and now in Miss International.

Maira in, Stephanie out as Miss Earth Venezuela 2014 in Manila

Just as we thought that Stephanie de Zorzi is packing her bags and getting herself ready, a new representative from the recently concluded Miss Venezuela 2014 will be representing the country in Manila for Miss Earth 2014.

Maira Alexandra Rodriguez Herrera, originally Miss Earth Venezuela 2015 was asked by Osmel Sousa to represent their country this early as De Zorzi concentrated on her modelling stint and has gained weight before the pageant.

Herrera will be joining the other Miss Earth 2014 delegates for the right to succeed fellow Venezuelan and reigning Miss Earth Alyz Henrich.

Let's welcome Miss Earth Venezuela 2014 Maira Alexandra Rodriguez with open arms.
