Miss Global Philippines 2015 Press Presentation

Yesterday was a busy day  for Miss Global Philippines 2015 as it ushered in the start of the competition with a Press Presentation held at Hotel Rembrandt. The 22 Official Candidates vie for the Miss Global Philippines crown currently held by Catherine Almirante who was Miss Global 2014 2nd Runner Up.

Three ladies were named as Darlings of the Press on this event with two familiar faces in Meryll Angeline King (Miss Tourism World Philippines 2012) and Candice Ramos (Miss Philippines-Earth Eco Tourism 2012 behind Miss Global Philippines COO Stephany Stefanowitz). Rounding up this year's Darling of the Press is Maureen Sia.

We have a lot of local pageants but Miss Global Philippines stands out as it accepts in the contest single mommies who would like to take part in the contest. For 2015, The age bracket was lifted from 26 to 28. Reigning queen Catherine Almirante already met the contestants and did mentoring for Personality Development.

The 2015 competition would be held in The City of Dreams, Manila on September 5, 2015 telecast on ABS-CBN. The winner will be the country's representative to be held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater on October 24, 2015.

A Painting Session with Miss Universe Philippines 2015 Pia Wurtzbach

2015 Miss Universe Philippines Pia Wurtzbach was a subject of a group of local artists just recently in the Gateway Gallery. Dressed in a Filipiniana terno, Pia was effortless in her session with the artists in trying to keep her composure as a model for their paintings.

I hope our dear Miss Universe Philippines gets to keep one for herself. :)

Miss Earth 2014 Jamie Herrell for Imag'in Reunion

Miss Earth 2014 Jamie Herrell is on the cover of Imag'in which covers what is happening on everything and anything around Reunion Island. The June-July 2015 edition also features the 20 candidates vying for Miss Earth Reunion Island.

Indeed, Miss Earth is racking up every global opportunity to be able to promote their 2nd Edition outside the Philippines which will happen on December 5, 2015, we may expect our dear Jamie Herrell for more appearances in Miss Earth participating countries for the next month to come.


Olivia Jordan wins Miss USA 2015

This year's Miss USA and representative to Miss Universe 2015 is Oklahoma's Olivia Jordan. Jordan may ring a bell to you because she was also Miss World America 2013 and represented the country to Miss World 2013 won by Megan Young. 

Making it to the Top 5 are Ylianna Guerra of Texas as 1st Runner-Up and Anea Garcia of Rhode Island taking 2nd Runner-Up. Brittany McGowan of Nevada placed 3rd Runner-Up, with Mame Adjei of Maryland closing the Top 5 as 4th Runner-Up. 

Arizona's Fil-Am bet Maureen Montagne reached the Top 15.

2015 Misters of Pilipinas 2nd Casting Call

A change of name didn't lessen the credibility of the 2015 Misters of Pilipinas, probably the most successful male contest to date, a lot have decided to submit their applications in the first casting call. 

The requirements are as follows:
- Single
- 18 - 29 years old 
- At least 5'10" 
- Dynamic and Fit 

Misters of Pilipinas returns on its 3rd year and boasts of achievements like having the 2013  Mister International 4th Runner Up Gil Wagas, 2014 Mister Global 4th Runner Up Wilfred Placencia and a string of achievements in 2014 with Mister International Neil Perez, Mister Model International 3rd Runner Up Adam Rhys Davies, Mister Global 2015 Semifinalist Joseph Doruelo and still to compete, Mister Tourism International Philippines Judah Cohen.

Be the next Miss Global Philippines 2015

Miss Global Philippines 2015 had extended their search until July 10, 2015, this is to give ample time to those who intend to join the pageant.

Winners will receive the following:
- Php 300,000 for the Miss Global Philippines 2015  winner
- Php 50,000 for runners up 
- Scholarships 
- Will automatically become a PSL Production Talent and will be given series of projects. 
- Represent Philippines to the Miss Global 2015 pageant 
- Privilege to travel abroad.

A screening was held last Saturday, July 4, 2015 at Hotel Rembrandt: MGP 2015 Final Screening with reigning Miss Global Philippines Catherine Almirante, Miss Summer International Philippines 2014 Athena Catriz and MGP Tourism Ambassador Lorraine Erum on hand to witness the screening.

The Coronation Night is on September 5, 2015 at City of Dreams - Manila

Christi Lynn McGarry: Intercontinental crown in her mind

Christi Lynn McGarry won't be competing until December but she has in her eyes the fire of winning the first Miss Intercontinental 2015 crown.

 Having conquered the controversies of competing in the same pageant twice, Christi is now up to the challenge of besting her placement when she competed in 2010 where she was part of the Top 15 and was the Best in the Asia and Oceania part.

 I am sure Jonas Gaffud and Aces and Queens will not leave anything unturned this time around.
