Bb. Pilipinas 2012 winners of their own right: Schmitz (Top 15 MI Finalist), Tugonon (Miss Universe 1st Runner Up) & Moll (Miss Supranational 3rd Runner Up)

Despite the emergence of other beauty pageants, Bb. Pilipinas remains to be the much-awaited one: With Miss Universe Philippines placements for the past 3 years (Venus Raj, Shamcey Supsup and Janine Tugonon), consistent Top 15 placements since 2008 in Miss International (Patricia Fernandez, the late Melody Gersbach, Krista Kleiner, Dianne Necio and Nicole Schmitz) and the first runner-up finish in its maiden year of joining Miss Supranational in Elaine Kay Moll, girls have flocked to join Bb. Pilipinas 2013, to get the right to succeed Janine Tugonon and maybe, bring the Miss Universe crown to the Philippines. I am pretty much guessing that the girls are inspired by the 2012 winners' performance, especially of Janine who was Vice-Miss to Miss Universe 2012.

Watch the 50 ladies on the Finals Night of Bb. Pilipinas 2013 where Janine Tugonon (Miss Universe Philippines), Nicole Schmitz (Bb. Pilipinas International) and Katrina Dimaranan (Bb. Pilipinas Tourism) relinquish their crowns to the next Binibini queens for 2013.



 

 

I am not going against my Predictions during the Binibini game but I think that most of those who predicted have scored Charmaine Elima to be the next Miss Universe Philippines, Hannah Ruth Sison for Miss International and Mutya Datul for Bb. Pilipinas Tourism while this is not yet final, I strongly believe that they are the "powerhouse" of this year's Binibining Pilipinas and winning the crown for each of them is not far from being true.

 



 

 

Bb. Pilipinas 2012 2nd Runner Up Ali Forbes performed in her first major concert entitled "Invincible" in Teatrino last March 26, She was with her fellow Binibini winners, Miss Universe 2012 1st Runner Up Janine Tugonon and Bb. Pilipinas Tourism Katrina Dimaranan as well as the Jazz Tenors. The benefit concert was presented by Kaisa sa Kalikasan at Kalusugan & Gatpuno Andres Bonificio Foundation

I am a big fan of Pageant Facebook pages, of course, they get their sources elsewhere, sometimes they are even faster than Missosology (my handle is missMA and I don't post too often, the last time I posted was about the Bb. Pilipinas 2013 Prediction Game), one of those pages I follow has reported a rumor that Bb. Pilipinas Tourism 2012 Katrina Dimaranan will be the next Miss Supranational Philippines for 2013.

 

Upon hearing the news, I commented immediately on the photo, She has what it takes.

 

With their contracts expiring in October, I do not see any reason why not give a chance to Katrina, who has worked with Janine Tugonon (Miss Universe 1st Runner Up), Nicole Schmitz (Miss International Semifinalist), Elaine Kay Moll (reigning Miss Supranational Philippines) and Ali Forbes (Bb. Pilipinas 2nd Runner Up) in all Binibini events which much confidence and poise after winning the Tourism crown last April 15. It was unfortunate though that Kat's Miss Tourism Queen International stint did not pursue last year and there is no definite assurance of the rescheduled MTQI 2012 to be held sometime April.

The thought may be seem to be a consolation after Elaine who was the 1st Runner Up of the 2012 contest being sent instead of her but I think she wouldn't mind if ever it happens, after all, Supra is not in the official crown list of BBP and Elaine was also handpicked by Madam Stella Marquez Araneta.

Enough being said, this is a wait and see for me.

 

Confirmations had been posted last night on various pageant websites that Candidate #35 - Theresa Marie Fenger has opted to resign from the Bb. Pilipinas 2013 competition instead of being given the boot after photos from her FHM stint was posted all over the internet.  If you would recall, Theresa was a part of the singing group Eurasia where she was known as "Lana Roi". Her sexy FHM photos was during the time she was with Eurasia.

Of recent Bb. Pilipinas contests, Sandra Seifert was disqualified barely days before the competition for her FHM stint back in 2009. Seifert was able to redeem herself in Miss Philippines-Earth 2009 where she was adjudged the winner and was able to be Miss Earth-Air 2009.

Kc Cajandig replaces Theresa Fenger as the #35 in the competition, though a little bit too late I may say (we do not count her out though) but I think it would be wild if the new Candidate#35 gets to snatch any of the three Binibini crowns.

50 beautiful ladies are vying to represent the country at either Miss Universe, Miss International, Miss Tourism Queen International (provided that it is still there) and Miss Supranational 2013. Each of those who made it in the official list of candidates had their own strengths that they have managed to capitalize on before the Finals Night, but not all of them has been given the chance to wear the Philippine sash before entering Binibining Pilipinas like Candidate #20 - Bea Rose Santiago and Candidate # 21 - Lourenz Grace Remetillo.

 

CANDIDATE#20 - Bea Rose Santiago

Bea Rose Santiago is no stranger to beauty contests. She has been crowned as Mutya ng Pilipinas Overseas Communities in 2011 (competition won by Vickie Rushton) and has represented the country just last year during the Miss Tourism Queen of the Year 2012 where she was a part of the Top 10 (competition won by Asta Jakumaite). Online polls consider her as one of the top bets for this competition and who will not vouch for that? ;)

 

CANDIDATE # 21 - Lourenz Grace Remetillo 

Lourenz Grace Remetillo will definitely ring a bell to those who have been following Philippine pageants over the past 2 years, the lady from Iligan was the first who represented the country to Miss Supranational in 2011 (followed by Bb. Pilipinas 2012 1st Runner Up Elaine Kay Moll) when the franchise was not yet with Madam Stella Marquez Araneta. With 2013 seeming to be Chix's last year to join beauty contests (as she has turned 25), She hopes that she can win the competition and represent the country in a bigger stage.

Find out on April 14, 2013 as Bea and Lou along with 48 other candidates vie to succeed Janine Tugonon (Miss Universe Philippines), Nicole Schmitz (Bb. Pilipinas-International) and Katrina Dimaranan (Bb. Pilipinas Tourism) as they relinquish their crowns to ladies who will rule the pageant scene for 2013.

I had been following IG accounts of past & reigning beauty queens during their Binibini Gold Reunion at Madam Stella Marquez- Araneta's Bahay na Puti in Cubao, Quezon City and everyone looked fabulous - from the early winners of Binibini down to the reigning queens (Tugonon, Schmitz, Dimaranan, Moll and Forbes). I've liked several photos but for me there are a few pictures that stood out, one of them is the above photo of the last 3 Miss Universe Philippines winners who made the country proud: Ma. Venus Raj, Shamcey Supsup and Janine Tugonon.

 

All three ladies have come from one camp: A&Q, however, we do not count out the equal opportunity that bares 50 gorgeous ladies on April 14 when they compete to snatch the most coveted Miss Universe Philippines title. When you've looked at the pageant's official candidates, Kagandahang Flores and Team JDV have sent delegates which are also capable of winning the top crown. 

 

Whoever it is who will succeed Janine Tugonon, I know a tough journey is ahead for you, but rest assured that the lovely ladies on photo and BPCI would be doing its best to help you throughout your reign.

 

(now I am wondering, who's your bet for the next Miss Universe Philippines?)
